What's your design process?

Below is a general idea of what you can expect your process to look like. There will be differences based on if you're hiring Lux + Vita to create a brand new website and need to get your domain and hosting set up, if you're doing a website refresh and need to either put your site under construction, or if we've agreed to use something other than Squarespace or Wordpress to create/refresh your website.

Branding

  1. Homework - This form helps me get to know you and your project better.
  2. Pinterest Board - Creating a Pinterest board helps me (and you!) identify your style, tone and color.
  3. Design Concepts Options - Based on your homework and Pinterest board I'll create 2-3 concepts
  4. Pick 1 Concept - From here you'll pick the concept that you like best of the options given
  5. Revisions - When picking your concept, you'll be able to start giving feedback right away. I currently offer unlimited revisions as I believe that you deserve exactly what you envision your branding to be.
  6. Finalize Concept - Once we've gone through all of the revisions, I'll begin to finalize your branding package.
  7. Create Additional Package Items - If you've chosen Package 1 or 2, you'll have several additional items we'll design to create a cohesive brand.
  8. Deliver Final Files - Once the final invoice has been paid all of your files will be added to your client portal.

Website

  1. Homework - This form helps me get to know you and your project better.
  2. Framework - Based on your homework I'll go through and create a basic layout of your new site
  3. Template Choices - Depending on if you're a Squarespace or Wordpress user, I'll find a template that will best fit your brand and website needs
  4. Add Content & Customize - Once the template has been chosen, I'll go through and begin to add the content to your site and customize the theme.
  5. Review - Once I feel the site is ready to go, we'll setup a video call where I'll walk you through your entire site (making any changes in the moment as needed) as well as answering any questions you have about your site and updating it in the future.
  6. Launch - Once all final edits have been made to the site and the final invoice has been paid, I'll add all necessary files to your client portal and we'll launch your site!

How long will it take?

To make sure my clients have the best experience and my full attention, I currently only accept 2 big projects per month - so 1 branding and 1 website or 2 branding projects or 2 websites. I want to make sure that you're receiving the best possible service! Because I've chosen to accept only 2 big projects per month, there's a chance that your project could be done faster than estimated.

  • Branding - 4-6 weeks
  • Website - 6-8 weeks
  • Print Materials - Varies by project (many can be done within days)

What's your payment process?

To begin the project I require an initial payment of 50% of the full project cost and the final 50% payment of the full project cost at the end of the project before delivering the final files. Without the initial 50% payment, the project can't move forward. Similarly, I cannot send or give you access to the completed files until the final 50% payment has been received. Because of the work we'll have done on the project, the initial 50% payment is non-refundable.

I prefer online payments however, if that isn't possible, just send me an email and I'll send alternative ways to pay.


Do you offer discounts?

I love helping others get their business or ministry where they want it to be. With my 8+ years of experience serving local churches, I understand how hard it can be to design things that speak to who you and and your audience. Sometimes you just don't have the time or the budget, and I want to be there to help! Which is why I have a discount available for all non profit organizations; because I understand the struggles you have and the goals you're trying to achieve. Just let me know if you're a non profit and I'll add the discount to your project!


How do I get my files?

At the beginning of your project you'll be asked for your preference of Dropbox or Google Drive, which is how we'll be sharing files throughout the project. You'll also have a your own client portal page here on the Lux + Vita site. On that page you'll be able to access that folder to receive your files as well as send me files for your project.

At the end of your project after the final invoice payment has been received I will add all of the design files in popular formats (i.e. JPG, EPS, PNG). You should keep them somewhere safe as we’re not required to keep a copy, but we may in case of future projects we may have together. You will own all elements of text, images and data you provided, unless someone else owns them. If a font, image or website theme must be purchased, the cost will be forwarded to the client. At the end of the project the purchases made (if any) will be given in full to the client via the client portal.
